17.3. Investment expenditures incurred and future commitments resulting from signed investment contracts

The total amount of investment expenditures together with borrowing costs incurred in 2021 and in 2020 amounted to PLN 9,890 million and PLN 8,992 million, respectively, including PLN 383 million and PLN 472 million of investments relating to environmental protection.

As at 31 December 2021 and as at 31 December 2020 the value of future commitments resulting from investments contracts signed until this date amounted to PLN 19,033 million and PLN 9,202 million, respectively. The increase in 2021 resulted mainly from the signed investment contracts for the construction of the Olefins III Complex.
